Alexela Salmon Trolling Challenge Estonia 2026 takes place on 22–24 May 2026 at Haven Kakumäe harbour. Registration is open until 21 May 2026 at 23:59.
Harbour and arrival
On Friday, each team’s boat must be at Haven Kakumäe (at a specific location provided by the organiser or at its own legally arranged location; it is also allowed to have the boat on a trailer in the parking lot) at all times during the skipper’s meetings, as possible boat inspections will take place after the skipper’s meeting. Even if the team does not attend the skipper’s meeting, the boat must be in its designated place.
On Sunday, participants can choose where they want to launch their boat, but the boat must be back in Haven Kakumäe harbour either at the quay or at the trailer by 2:00 PM.
Mooring in/near the competition centre is included in the participation fee for all teams.
Crew and skipper
The minimum number of participants per boat is 2. The team name of the prospective crew will be submitted at registration. If a crew member is replaced and/or does not participate in the competition every day, the organisers must be notified of the change. Outsiders are not allowed on boats unless approved by the organiser.
One of the competitors must be designated as the skipper of the boat and must be on board every day unless otherwise notified to the organisers. The organiser must have the contact details of the current skipper.
Skipper’s meetings
Skipper’s meetings are not mandatory, but it is recommended that at least one person per boat attends, as the participants are responsible for obtaining the information given at skipper’s meetings. The team boat must be in Haven Kakumäe as there may be a boat inspection after the skipper’s meeting.
Start tags and participation number
Start tags with participation numbers will be hanging on a board at the competition centre. If the start tag is handed in too late, no fish can be weighed in for the competition day in question. The tags must be handed in even if no fish was caught.
Return deadlines: Friday and Saturday by 6:30 PM, Sunday by 2:00 PM — the team must be inside the bay and visible to the organiser from Haven Kakumäe quay.
Stickers with the team’s start number shall be visibly attached to each side of the boat.
Wind limits
At wind speeds of 10 m/s, the jury will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to postpone the start and/or call boats to shore.
Reporting and submission of the catch
Teams must inform the organiser of the catch immediately. Only reported fish may be weighed in. Participants label each fish with a tag provided by the organiser. Teams with fish to weigh in must return by boat to Haven Kakumäe at the end of the competition day.
Each team may weigh in a maximum of 2 fish per day per person. The organiser reserves the right to change the number of fish that may be weighed in during the competition. Sea trout is also an approved competition fish.
Weighing of catch
On Friday and Saturday, the catch is weighed in continuously from 6:30 PM when it arrives at the weighing station. On Sunday, weighing starts at approximately 2:30 PM when all catches have arrived.
The catch belongs to the team that takes care of the fish after weighing.
